If you want your company to succeed, focus on sales, but if you want to be rich, it’s better to serve people (service businesses). An example is BMW, which in 2000 increased its sales by 80% by providing services. Interestingly, the company’s profit showed an increase of up to 480%.
I think there are two drawbacks to selling: either mental or practical. It is important to know what sales mean, and what made Michael Dell in high school, get his teacher’s income in one month!
First of all, it is better to know that struggle, lying, hypocrisy, and talking too much are not considered sales. Selling is what the customer wants and benefits. Incidentally, selling means keeping quiet, listening, and helping the customer, even at the cost of loss for you.
If you do not believe in a product or service, please give it up, you need to prioritize transparency, respect, and passion. Michael Dell, as a rich man, says: “Instead of focusing on the whole market, think of more limited people.”
Many do not have the ability to distinguish the customer from the non-customer, remember that, not everyone is your customer. In the words of Jim Rohn: Success (selling) is a Numbers Game. You have a duty to continuously predict and review the result every month.
If your company is thriving, I suggest you focus on sales first, because selling means trading. Remember that constant sales and limited customer service can make you rich.
